Missouri Loses Even More Jobs!

LAMAR - Ready-to-assemble furniture company O'Sullivan Industries says its move from Lamar to Atlanta will improve recruitment and give them better access to transportation.

What officials at O'Sullivan haven't mentioned is how much they stand to gain from Georgia tax breaks. State law there says companies that invest at least a million dollars in headquarters there qualify for tax credits. It amounts to at least $2,500 a year for each new full-time job and applies for five years. Depending on how big a job's salary is, O'Sullivan could get up to $5,000 for a position. All told, the furniture maker could receive up to $1.25 million from its relocation. The move was announced this week in Lamar. To qualify, a company must invest $1 million and must not take any other job or investment tax credits.
